My Go To Summer Makeup

Hi Everyone!

Can you believe it is already July? How did that happen?

Whatever your summer entails I hope it has been a great one. I love summer because it usually means I’m tan and my skin is in a better state than normal. For this reason I tend to not wear as much makeup during the summer months. I also hate the feeling of a sticky face of makeup on a hot day. However, I still love to create fun summer looks for when I go out or am just feeling creative! Recently, this look has definitely been my go-to for the fact that you can make it as dramatic or soft as you like. I went for a more natural look but feel free to amp it up as much as you want!

Keep reading to see how I achieved this summer look

First, I started with foundation. I have been mixing the Hello Flawless Foundation by Benefit as well as the Rimmel Wake Me-Up Foundation (PSA:I’ve realized this is almost impossible to get in the U.S …*sad face*) to achieve the right shade for my skin tone. They’re both dewy foundations, which I’ve found creates a healthy glow perfect for summer. I mix a little of each on the back of my hand and then apply it with the Real Techniques Face Brush.

Next, I do my eyes. I always apply a primer. No if’s, and’s, or but’s. I used my typical Urban Decay Original Primer Potion. After, I applied the shade Trick from the Naked3 Palette all over my lid and then applied a purple shade called Hustle from Colour Pop Cosmetics into the crease. I blended this thoroughly with a fluffy eyeshadow brush and then applied my Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. For my brows I used the Ulta Brow Pomade which is a great dupe for the Anastasia pomade.

After the eyes, I moved on to my contour and highlight. For contour I used the Anastasia Contour Palette in light to medium. I mixed a little of the lightest brown and medium brown and swiped that right under my cheekbone to create some definition. I then used my all time favorite highlighting palette from Sleek. Seriously guys I LOVE this stuff. The palette comes with two cream highlights and two powders. I usually apply a little of the cream highlight first and then top it off with the golden colored powder highlight. Seriously look at that shine!!

I finish off the look with lips and setting powder. For lips all I used was my eos chapstick and a NYX Lip Pencil in the shade natural. For powder I used the Clinique Uplighting Illuminating Powder. I love this because it sets your makeup but leaves a little more of a glow than just a plain matte finish.
